The phosphorus removal agent for domestic sewage is a kind of chemical reagent used to treat phosphorus compounds in domestic sewage, which is a chemical substance for removing phosphorus from wastewater. Phosphorus is an important nutrient element required for plant growth. However, in sewage discharge, an excessively high content of phosphorus will lead to eutrophication of water bodies, affect water quality, and even cause harm to the ecological environment. Therefore, the use of a phosphorus removal agent can effectively reduce the phosphorus content in sewage and meet the environmental protection discharge standards.
Common phosphorus removal agents for domestic sewage mainly include aluminum salts, iron salts, and organic polymer compounds, etc. Among them, aluminum salts and iron salts achieve the purpose of phosphorus removal by combining with phosphate ions to form insoluble phosphate precipitates. Organic polymer compounds remove phosphate ions from water through functions such as adsorption and bridging.
When using the phosphorus removal agent for domestic sewage, attention should be paid to its dosage and the timing of addition. Excessive use may lead to colored effluent, secondary pollution, and the generation of other by-products. Improper timing of addition may affect the phosphorus removal effect. Therefore, a small-scale test should be carried out before use to determine the optimal usage conditions.
Methods of Using the Phosphorus Removal Agent for Domestic Sewage
1.Dilution and Mixing: Dilute the phosphorus removal agent to an appropriate concentration. Generally, the dilution ratio is between 1:10 and 1:50, and the specific ratio needs to be determined according to the phosphorus content in the sewage and the type of the phosphorus removal agent.
2.Addition: Pour the diluted phosphorus removal agent evenly into the sewage. It is recommended to use a stirring device to make the phosphorus removal agent fully dispersed in the sewage.
3.Stirring: Use a stirring device to fully mix the sewage and the phosphorus removal agent. The specific stirring time needs to be determined according to the type of the phosphorus removal agent and the properties of the sewage.
4.Reaction and Sedimentation: After stirring is completed, let the sewage stand still so that the suspended solids and impurities in the water settle to the bottom. Usually, it takes 30 to 60 minutes to wait.
5.Separation and Discharge: After sedimentation is completed, discharge the supernatant, and the sludge at the bottom can be discharged using a sludge suction device. The precipitates can be cleaned regularly or further treated.
