Aquaculture wastewater usually contains pollutants such as organic matter, ammonia nitrogen, phosphorus, etc., and the chroma and COD are particularly high, which is caused by feed residues, drug use or other dyeing substances. Decolorizers are mainly used to remove the color in wastewater to meet the standards for discharge or reuse. In the aquaculture industry, the decolorization of wastewater is not only to improve the appearance, but more importantly to remove certain organic dyes or pigments that may be harmful to the environment. The following are common processes for treating aquaculture wastewater. In actual treatment, a combination of multiple processes is often used.
1. Chemical decolorization:
Coagulation and sedimentation: By adding coagulants (such as aluminum sulfate, polyaluminum chloride PAC, etc.), the fine suspended particles in the wastewater are aggregated into larger flocs, which are easy to precipitate and remove.
Redox method: Use oxidants (such as ozone, potassium permanganate, hydrogen peroxide, etc.) to decompose organic dyes and other colored substances. Or use reducing agents to change the molecular structure of the dye to make it lose color.
2. Physical decolorization:
Adsorption method: Use activated carbon, zeolite, bentonite and other adsorption materials to adsorb pigments in wastewater.
Membrane separation technology: Remove pigments and other impurities in wastewater through membrane technologies such as microfiltration, ultrafiltration and nanofiltration.
3. Biological decolorization:
Biodegradation: Degrade organic matter in wastewater through the action of microorganisms, thereby reducing chromaticity.
4. Advanced oxidation technology:
Fenton reagent, photocatalytic oxidation, etc.
