Urban sewage mainly consists of domestic wastewater, which contains significant amounts of ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N) and phosphorus (P). These elements exist in various forms, such as organic nitrogen, ammonium nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, and gaseous nitrogen. Phosphorus is also present in large quantities. Therefore, urban sewage treatment equipment must include processes for ammonia nitrogen and phosphorus removal to meet discharge standards.
Ammonia nitrogen removal agents are innovative chemicals developed specifically to target ammonia nitrogen in wastewater. These agents use nano-composite grafting targeted catalytic technology to catalyze the oxidation of ammonia nitrogen into nitrogen gas, thereby reducing the ammonia nitrogen content in the wastewater.
The principle of ammonia nitrogen removal agents is to decompose ammonia nitrogen in water through strong oxidation, effectively breaking down ammonia nitrogen molecules. This oxidative decomposition does not produce precipitates, and the decomposition products do not recombine. Due to its strong oxidative properties, the agent is typically added at the end of the biochemical treatment process. The strong oxidizing nature of the agent ensures a quick reaction time, generally completing the process in about 5 minutes, rapidly lowering the ammonia nitrogen levels.
The use of ammonia nitrogen removal agents in urban sewage treatment significantly enhances the ability to meet stringent discharge standards by efficiently reducing ammonia nitrogen levels and improving overall water quality.
