Methods of Removing Ammonia Nitrogen in Wastewater
Removal of ammonia nitrogen (NH ₃ -N) in wastewater is an important part in wastewater treatment, especially in industrial wastewater and urban sewage treatment. The existence of ammonia nitrogen will lead to the eutrophication of water body, affect the ecological balance of water body, and even cause harm to human health. The following are several common methods for removing ammonia nitrogen in wastewater:
1.Physical methods
Air blowing method: under alkaline conditions, through air or steam blowing, the ammonia nitrogen in wastewater from the liquid phase to the vapor phase, suitable for high concentration of ammonia nitrogen wastewater. Membrane separation technology: using the characteristics of the semi-permeable membrane, the ammonia nitrogen through the membrane and separated from other components.
1. Chemical method:
Chemical precipitation method (MAP precipitation method): by adding magnesium salt and phosphate to the wastewater, to generate water-insoluble magnesium ammonium phosphate precipitation, so as to remove ammonia nitrogen.
Chemical oxidation method:
Use a strong oxidant (such as sodium hypochlorite) to oxidize ammonia nitrogen into nitrogen gas.
Fold point chlorination method: applicable to wastewater with low ammonia nitrogen concentration, ammonia nitrogen is completely oxidized to nitrogen by excessive chlorine to folding point.
3. Biological method:
Nitrification-denitrification method: through the action of microorganisms, the first ammonia nitrogen into nitrate, and then the nitrate denitrification into nitrogen gas. Common processes include A / O (hypoxia / aerobic) and A2 / O (anaerobic / hypoxia / aerobic) systems. Synchronous nitrification and denitrification: simultaneous nitrification and denitrification in the same reactor, simplifying the process.
Anaerobic ammonia oxidation method: a new type of biological treatment technology that directly transforms ammonia nitrogen and nitrite into nitrogen without adding a carbon source.
4. Physical and chemical binding method:
Ion exchange method: using zeolite plasma exchange material to absorb ammonia nitrogen, but subsequent regeneration treatment is required.
Electrochemical oxidation technology: under the action of the catalytic active electrode, through the electrochemical reaction oxidation of ammonia nitrogen.
Ammonia nitrogen remover is specially designed to reduce content of ammonia nitrogen (NH ₃ -N) in wastewater. Chemical agents contain oxidants, such as sodium hypochlorite, which can convert ammonia nitrogen into nitrogen or other harmless substances. In addition, some chemicals can form precipitation with ammonia nitrogen, producing insoluble salt precipitation, so as to realize the removal of ammonia nitrogen. Its reaction speed is fast, and it can significantly reduce the ammonia nitrogen content in a relatively short time. After addition, the ammonia nitrogen in the wastewater generates nitrogen, nitrogen dioxide, nitric oxide and water with insoluble dry water. The catalytic components of the product transforms the ammonia nitrogen in the wastewater into free state, and the reaction process can be completed in 5-10 minutes, with an efficient removal rate.
