The sources of wastewater from hazardous waste recycling are extensive, mainly including the chemical industry, petroleum refining industry, metal industry, mining industry, and pharmaceutical industry, etc. The composition of these wastewaters is complex, and the wastewater from hazardous waste recycling has the following hazards:
(1) Damaging the ecological environment. If the wastewater from the disposal of hazardous waste is discharged or stored randomly, under the long-term infiltration and diffusion effects of rainwater and groundwater, it will contaminate water bodies and soil, and reduce the environmental function grade of the region.
(2) Affecting human health. The wastewater from the disposal of hazardous waste can cause poisoning through ingestion, inhalation, skin absorption, and eye contact, or lead to dangerous incidents such as fires and explosions. Long-term hazards include chronic poisoning, carcinogenesis, teratogenesis, mutagenesis, etc. caused by repeated exposure.
(3) Constraining sustainable development. The pollution of the atmosphere, water sources, soil, etc. caused by the improper treatment or non-treatment of the wastewater from the disposal of hazardous waste will also become a bottleneck restricting economic activities.
The nickel remover is a treatment agent used to remove harmful heavy metals, especially nickel, from the wastewater generated in hazardous waste recycling. It achieves the removal of nickel by competing with the complexes in the water for nickel ions, resulting in the formation of insoluble precipitates. The polar groups contained in it combine with nickel ions to form insoluble chelate precipitates. It can directly react with complexed nickel, especially under acidic or alkaline conditions. This process eliminates the oxidation process, ensuring the removal effect while saving costs. It is currently the best option for treating special nickel-containing wastewater. Some of the agents have both redox and adsorption functions, making them suitable for complex wastewater systems.
Compared with traditional methods, the nickel remover for wastewater from hazardous waste recycling is characterized by high efficiency, safety, and economy. It has a fast reaction rate and can stably reduce the nickel concentration to below 0.1 mg/L. By recovering nickel resources through precipitation, it realizes the recycling of hazardous waste, reduces the dependence on natural resources, and mitigates environmental pollution.
