The foul-smelling gases produced during the feed production process contain a large amount of volatile organic compounds and odorous substances such as hydrogen sulfide, which not only affect the work environment and the lives of nearby residents but also have adverse effects on the ecological environment. Therefore, it is crucial to take effective treatment measures.
At present, the main pollutants in feed factory waste gas are volatile organic compounds and hydrogen sulfide. Volatile organic compounds include fats, proteins, carbohydrates, and other organic substances in the feed, while hydrogen sulfide is the oxidation product of sulfur in the feed. Considering the overall situation, the use of feed waste gas deodorants for treatment can be considered.
The biological method for deodorizing feed waste gas is a relatively new method for controlling air pollution, which uses microorganisms to degrade or transform volatile organic compounds, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, and other foul-smelling substances in the air. Common microorganisms used in this method include bacteria and fungi. The biological method has the advantages of low energy consumption, no secondary pollution, and so on.
The process of feed waste gas deodorant is an adsorption and degradation process, in which malodorous gases are adsorbed by the biofiller, and then the pollutants in the malodorous gases are degraded by microorganisms adhering to the surface and the interior of the filler. In the biological deodorization process, microorganisms can rely on the organic substances in the biofiller to maintain growth and reproduction without the need for additional nutrients. This process is a green and environmentally friendly technology with high removal efficiency (deodorizing effect reaching 95-99%), low operating costs, and no secondary pollution. The entire equipment requires minimal maintenance, and the cost of manual management is low.
The feed waste gas deodorant can remove odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and hazardous substances from the air. Specific applications include controlling or eliminating odors in urban sewage treatment facilities, production odors in industrial processes, and volatile substances in contaminated soil and groundwater. The biological method can degrade most volatile and semi-volatile alkanes, alkenes, and aromatic hydrocarbons, which generally have biodegradability and high water solubility.
